FORDNUTZ COUGAR CLAW-IN
August 13, 2006

[-]

This is an annual event put on by the Fordnutz Cougar club in south Surrey, near Softball City. We started out theday by meeting at the Shell gas station at 32nd Ave and King George Hwy at 9:30 a.m. and from there, headed out to the show at 10:00 a.m.

Once we got there, we had our own area set aside and arranged the cars in a very impressive looking semi-circle (with a balanced color scheme of course!) to show off our hard work and gleaming cars. The Fordnutz Club has created a special "Supercoupe" class just for our cars so it was fun to wait and see who would take home the prizes for the day.

Thanks to those who supported the club by entering their cars:

  • Joe & Sheryl Discusso
  • Linda Fedoruk
  • Preston Johnson
  • Miles Nerona
  • Bill Cheff
  • Donna Smith
  • Pat & Yoriko Connelly (2 cars)

Congratulations go to Pat for winning first place with his 91 White SC and to Bill for winning second place with his silver SC. All the cars looked awesome and we also tied for highest club pariticipation with the most number of cars in show!

Also thanks to Brad, Kevin, Stew and others who were there to support us, and to those who showed up throughout the day to say hi. It was great to see everybody and we couldn't have asked for a nicer day!

A NIGHT AT THE TWILIGHT DRIVE-IN THEATRE
August 11, 2006

[-]

A first for the SCCoWC, we had a night at the new Twilight Drive-In Theater in Aldergrove.

The group met at 7:00 p.m. in Aldergrove at the McDonalds at Fraser Hwy and 264th), and from there headed out to the Twilight Drive-in Theatre. Movies started at 9:30 p.m. with "You, Me and Dupree," followed at 11:15 by "Miami Vice," and for those who stayed late (none of us!), the last movie "Silent Hill" started at 1:15 a.m.

(More details to follow)

MSA FORD BIRTHDAY SHOW & SHINE
Fraser Valley Auto Mall, June 11th, 2006

[-]

This show and shine was mainly for Ford vehicles, and took place at MSA Ford in the Fraser Valley Auto Mall.

SCCoWC club members met at Colossus in Langley at 9:30 a.m. and then cruised out to Abbotsford MSA Auto Mall at 10 a.m. Brad, Bill, Greg and Donna registered their cars in the show, and we had Riley along as our official "helper." (He did a great job of cleaning up the interior of Brad's car with the Swifter duster!!)

The weather was beautiful and it wasn't long before we headed over to Tim Horton's/Wendy's which is conveniently right beside MSA Ford, and got some cold drinks. A little later Egor dropped in, then Kevin joined us too. Joe and Sheryl also showed up on their first road trip of their blue SC! We all hung out and had a nice visit until 3:00, when things wrapped up and we all headed for home.

DW POPPY SHOW & SHINE
May 7, 2006

[-]

It was our second time at this event and as it turned out the weather was rainy, windy and cold, so understandably, not many participants were showing up.

We met up at the Java Hut in Langley and cruised out to DW Poppy High School, where we managed to get our four cars onto the field and at least take some pictures. By about noon, most of us were shivering with the cold and our patience ran out for the dismal weather so we decided to leave. Of course after we had left, the rain stopped, it brightened up and had become quite a beautiful day.

We would like to thank Brad, Donna, Greg & Riley, Kevin, Matt, Preston and Bill for coming out. We look forward to next year!

BC CUSTOM CLASSIC & CAR SHOW
Abbotsford Tradex, April 29 & 30th, 2006

[-]

As part of the Ford Car Club Council of BC (FCCC), the SCCoWC took part once again in this year's BC Classic & Custom Car Show at the Tradex in Abbotsford, BC. Unlike previous years where the FCCC had a general theme for all Ford Car Clubs to follow, this year we were all allowed to do our own theme. We didn't have a real theme this year, mainly just proudly displaying our cars.

We contributed three cars to the show this year: Brad Fedoruk's Teal 1994 T-Bird SC, Donna Smith's 1990 Black 35th Anniversary T-Bird SC and Bill Cheff's 1992 Silver T-Bird SC. Next year we look forward to creating a theme for the display, and any help or suggestions would be great!

SCCoWC INVADES CASTLE FUN PARK
April 2, 2006

[-]

This popular event marked the first official meet of the year, and our 4th visit to Castle Fun Park, in Abbotsford BC. We all met in South Surrey at the Little Cambell River General Store at 10:30 a.m. We had a good turnout of members, including some new people we hadn't met before and as usual, we lined up the cars for lots of photo-taking.

Around 11:00 a.m. we hit the road and proceeded in a caravan of Thunderbirds and a few other "miscellaneous" vehicles towards Castle Fun Park. We cruised the "scenic route" through South Surrey and Langley into Abbotsford. The scenery was amazing; the driving was spectacular and something to be experienced -- if you've never gone on a cruise with the group you're missing out!

It took just over an hour to arrive at our destination at the amusement park, and once again we lined up the cars to admire and take lots of pictures of them. Before we got started on the fun, we all gathered in a reserved area inside and had pizza and beverages, and then presented Bill with his birthday present -- for some unknown reason he was quite apprehensive about opening it in mixed company!

For the next few hours we played!! There were the bumper karts, a shooting gallery, video arcade, and you just know that if you put a bunch of SC owners in go-karts and they're not going to obey the rules!! (right Preston?). Once the "Indy 500" was finished, everyone headed for the mini-golf -- which you would think was fairly safe and not much could be done to debauche that game right? Well Stew and Bill had other ideas and found all kinds of "creative" ways to launch a golf ball! Bill should have also gone and bought a lottery ticket that day because his hole-in-one was nothing but pure luck!

At the end of the afternoon I think we were all very tired and I know I for one was very much in need of a good strong coffee to keep me alert for the drive back home! Thanks to everybody for coming out.

BUNTZEN LAKE CRUISE AND BBQ
September 18, 2005

[-]

The group met up at the Lougheed Mall and set out on a short cruise up to Buntzen Lake. Those with lowered cars had to take it a bit easy going over the speed bumps driving to the lake, but once there, we all agreed it was going to be a good day. It was a warm sunny day on the lake to hang out and talk cars or whatever else came up. Unfortunately repairs meant a few SCs weren’t able to make it, but people still showed up in their other cars. We ended up having three SCs including a 35th and a Cougar XR7. We grabbed two picnic tables by the water and had a little BBQ and lunch. Thanks to Joe for bringing his BBQ.

The meet was attended by Linda and Jim, Brad, Kevin, Stew and his girlfriend, Joe and Sheryl, and Donna and her troop.

TIM HORTON'S COFFEE MEET
Queensborough Landing, August 28, 2005

[-]

Tim Horton's get-togethers are usually what some of the guy/gals decide to do between meets just to hang out and talk car stuff and whatever. On August 28th we got together to say goodbye to Bill Cheff as he had decided to move up to Fort St. John for 6-8 months. Why there of all places, I couldn’t tell you -- but he ended up changing his mind, and was back within a week-and-a-half!

Those who came out to this meet were Joe D. and Sheryl, Kevin, Preston, Tim, Joe, and Miles -- who showed up late with a story of a fender bender on his way to the event. This event also brought out a new member who all of us were waiting to meet -- Donna showed up with her 35th Anniversary Edition Thunderbird SC.

As with most of our get-togethers, the “car talk” started right away. All in all this was a great meet -- there will definitely be more meets at Tim Horton’s to come -- just keep a eye on the message board for these mini meets as they don’t usually get posted on the events board.

CRUISE 'N KART
November 28, 2004

[-]

The second incarnation of one of the club's most popular events took place on Sunday November 28th.

Meeting up at the Wal-Mart parking lot in Queensborough, the club soon was cruising along the Fraser River, destined for TBC Indoor Go-Karts in Richmond. We arrived at the track all in one piece, met up with two people from outside the club, Jim and Dan (they both drive Fords, so it was OK) and headed inside to gear up.

The SCCoWC had scheduled dedicated track time, so we were fortunate enough to have the entire facility to ourselves for a half hour of racing - including two warm up heats and one winner take all sprint to the finish. Thankfully this time (unlike in Kelowna!) all the karts made it to the end of the race without much incident. A big congrats goes out to Scott Moore for taking first place overall.

After the excitement of the racing, the club cruised south to the Old Spaghetti Factory at Riverport in Richmond for a nice, relaxing afternoon lunch. This gave everyone a chance to reflect on the day, discuss some car-related plans and once again check out each other's cars (as if we hadn't done this before!)

This was the last meet of 2004, and was a very enjoyable way to end club festivities for the year.

Please feel free to contact one of us if you have any questions!!

  • Brad Fedoruk, SCCoWC President: 604-908-9627

  • Bill Cheff, SCCoWC Membership Coordinator: 604-720-6035

  • Scott Semeniuk, SCCoWC Calgary and area Representative

ABBOTSFOD COLLECTOR CAR SHOW & AUCTION
October 16-17, 2004

[-]

The SCCoWC took part in the Autumn edition of the Abbotsford Collector Car Show and Auction at Tradex in late 2004. Representing the club were Bill Cheff and Brad Fedoruk. The two day show and shine is comprised of high end customs, classics and hot rods from all over the Pacific Northwest.

COUNTRY SHOW 'N SHINE
July 18, 2004

[-]

2004 was the fourth year in a row the SCCoWC had the honour of taking part in this popular show and shine. Historically, it had always attracted more club members and cars than any other event, and this year did not disappoint!

Meeting early on a spectacular summer Sunday morning, numerous Thunderbirds and Cougars descended upon the Colossus Theater parking lot in Langley B.C. Once the crew had gathered we departed on the short journey east to the Thunderbird Show Park, the home of the Country Show and Shine. After three previous years of attending this show, parking the cars and setting up was a breeze as everyone was now getting familiar with the routine. The day was ours to enjoy as spectators and participants alike checked out the huge array of stunning machinery that had gathered, and patiently awaited the trophy presentation at the end of the show.

As the SuperCoupe Club had our own trophy class, we were guaranteed that someone was going home happy - with hardware in hand! We would like to thank everyone who participated in this event, and congratulate the winners at the 2004 Country Show and Shine:

89-97 Thunderbird and Cougar:

  • First: John Watts

  • Second: Arv Benga

  • Third: Bill Cheff

80's and up Performance:

  • Second: Brad Fedoruk

  • Third: Bill Cheff

Late Modified Custom:

  • Third: Stew McBride

CASTLE FUN PARK
March 28, 2004

[-]

What a way to kick off the spring of 2004! A perfect day brought out a record number of cars to the second incarnation of "SCCoWC Invades Castle Fun Park!"

Sunday, March 28th began as many club meets do - at the preferred meeting spot of the Little Campbell River General Store in South Surrey. As the rollout for the cruise drew closer, Thunderbird after Thunderbird after Thunderbird arrived, eventually taking up almost every available parking spot at the back of the store! Several other types of vehicles joined the group including an Intermeccanica Porsche replica, a classic Mercury Cougar, a tricked out Ford Ranger and an SVT F-150 Lightning, creating a unique sight that no doubt turned more than a few heads.

After everyone had thoroughly checked out each others' rides and snapped plenty of pictures, the group formed up and headed east towards our destination. The cruise slowly wound its way through South Surrey and Langley following long stretches of country road leading to the most anticipated part of the journey - the tight, twisting, narrow back mountain roads of Abbotsford. The tour passed through the hills and corners with little incident, except for a little bit of unexpected dirt and some suspension-stressing bumps that we encountered along the way (once again, our apologies for that!) The mountains soon gave way to the expansive Fraser Valley floodplain, and finally our destination - Castle Fun Park!

Arriving in true SCCoWC style, the cars entered the parking lot and lined up. Everyone took full advantage of the photo opportunity that presented itself, then soon headed indoors. Once the slight confusion over the pizza was figured out (once again - true SCCoWC style) the club proceeded to mini-golf, go-kart, bumper car and video game the afternoon away!

What a day this turned out to be - perfect weather, a huge turnout, a spectacular cruise and good times had by all who attended. If this meet is any indication of the year to come 2004 will be like no other for the SuperCoupe Club of Western Canada! We thank everyone who came out and was a part of this truly memorable event!

ABBOTSFOD COLLECTOR CAR SHOW & AUCTION
February 28-29, 2004

[-]

The first club event of the year was the Abbotsford Collector Car Show and Auction at Tradex Feb 28th and 29th 2004. Bill Cheff was proudly displaying his car once again and Joey Discusso was there with his black SC. Both cars looked great and garnered lots of attention and admiration from those who came out to the show.

FORDNUTZ INDIAN SUMMER FUN RUN
September 15, 2002

[-]

The SCCoWC's last event of the summer began like most others did ... WAY TOO EARLY! :) The first stop of the day was Tim Horton’s, Ironwood Plaza, Richmond - to pick up Miles and his family to cruise out to the club meeting place - Tim Hortons, 200th Street, Langley. We met up with Bill & Jeremy, Lisa and her brother Jori, and Kevin, and Jim to cruise out as a club to the designated meeting area for the Fordnutz Indian Summer Fun Run. While waiting for registration to start, a 1993 Midnight Blue T-bird SC decided to join us. It was not-so-new member Mark Santos, for his first ever SCCoWC meet.

The Fun Run

After the registration process was complete, the cruise began. Directions and maps were handed out by Scott Ferguson of Fordnutz. The first stop on the list was the Domaine de Chaberton Winery. After looking around the winery, we continued on our way. With the majority of our club members missing a turn, except for our birthday girl, Lisa, we found the way to the next check point, all but one of us. Hey, after all it IS an SCCoWC meet. :) The cruise led us through Langley, Abbotsford, to the Stave Lake Dam in Mission. The planned route took us back through Abbotsford to Fort Langley and back to Cruisers. Thanks to Lisa and Jori for noticing a mistake in the directions, so we didn’t get lost when most people did. Overall the cruise was a success!

Fun Run Wrap-Up

After arriving back at Cruisers, all of us, except for Kevin, sat down for a late lunch while waiting for the prizes to be awarded. The SCCoWC cleaned house in the prizes department which are listed as follows:

Bill

a mug

hotwheels

Miles

a fountain tire gift certificate

8x14 picture of a 1965 Crown Victoria

Lisa

hotwheels

Mark

a bottle of wine from the winery

a t-bird hotwheels

$50.00 cash

Thanks to Fordnutz for organizing this event and a big thanks to Cruisers for hosting it. Many thanks to the members who attended and our next meet is on October 4, 5, and 6 in Edmonton, Alberta.

THE 23rd INTERNATIONAL MUSTANG MEET SHOW 'N SHINE
Silvercity Richport (Richmond, B.C.) August 31 - September 2, 2002

[-]

September long weekend was the time for the 23rd International Mustang Meet. The Greater Vancouver Mustang Association (GVMA) hosted this event. We had two members enter their cars in the show — Miles Nerona & Bill Cheff. The weather decided to cooperate with us yet again. It was a long day, with lots of cars (maybe a few too many mustangs) and some pretty good competition for our birds, and an assortment from different eras. But, in the end, the older cars took home the prizes. Thank you to those SCCoWC members who came out and supported Miles and Bill in the 23rd International Mustang Meet Show ‘n Shine.

FORDNUTZ COUGAR CLUB’S CLAW-IN 2002
Sunday August 11, 2002

[-]

First off, I would like to thank Fordnutz for organizing such a great show! A special thanks to Fordnutz president Scott Ferguson for creating a 1983–1997 Thunderbird and Cougar Class for our members to participate in.

We met at the Shell gas station at King George Hwy and 148th Street in Surrey. From there, we cruised together as a club when Rodney’s wheel almost fell off. Thanks to Miles, Rodney was able to make it to the show, a little green but in one piece.

I would like to congratulate Ryan Hickmore, taking 3rd, Pat Connelly, taking 2nd, and Miles Nerona, taking 1st in our category. Tim Moore also won a racing helmet as a door prize. Thanks to everyone who was able to make it out!

SHELBY CLUB - HALLMARK FORD SHOW 'N SHINE
August 5, 2002

[-]

Ernie and I were the first ones from the SCCoWC to arrive. We blew past the Fordnutz participants and made their heads turn!!! YEAHHHH!!!!

Anyways, Miles arrived shortly after that. Patiently waiting for more to arrive, the lot was filling up quickly and we found out that Bill stayed up all night playing X-Box and would visit later. The day started quite slowly but picked up around 11 a.m. or so, when people started to arrive.

Ernie got lots of attention while she had a nap in my trunk! Yes, she fits, with room to spare! We saw lots of familiar faces, Dean and Sean Stuart, Pat and Yoriko Connelly, and a new member, Randy, stopped by for a visit.

The SCCoWC didn't take anything home but Rob Smillie from the Vancouver Stangers took home third place in his class, congratulations! It was a long but fun day! Thanks for everyone who came by to visit.

TOTEM T-BIRD CLUB DEAS ISLAND SHOW 'N SHINE
August 4, 2002

[-]

Miles entered his car on the day of the show and was put in the Best Thunderbird Class. Kevin showed up for a visit, while Ernie and I came by later with Tim Bits. The location was great, nice grass area with lots of trees to provide shade. Pat and Yoriko Connelly passed by too, where Pat's car was getting many looks in the parking lot. As you can probably guess, Miles didn't take anything home; he was competing against baby birdies (from the '50s)! Maybe when the SC is pushing 50 years old, it'll win best Thunderbird awards.

Quick congratulations to Alex Bronevich from Fordnutz/Galaxy Club of Canada on his second place win of his 1990 Thunderbird LX in the 70's and up category. Thanks Miles for entering your car and representing us with such class!!!!!

2ND ANNUAL COUNTRY SHOW 'N SHINE
July 21, 2002

[-]

What a day! First off I would like to thank Jori Black for putting together such a wonderful event. Thanks to Lisa for all the work she put into the Country Show ‘n Shine as well. A big thank you to the owners of the Thunderbird Show park for letting us use their facility for this event. It was a big success! A special thanks to Linda, my mom, for spending weeks planning and putting together our gorgeous SCCoWC banner. Another thanks goes out to Virgil, our laptop man, for once again lending us the use of his laptop. A big thanks goes out to Jim from Apex Communications for lending Ernie and I two-way radios; they saved our butts! On our behalf I will be sending a very big thank you to these people to show our gratitude.

We had 19 cars enter the show and a total of 21 members in attendance. Congratulations to Ray Wilch for taking 2nd place in the 80s and up performance class Also a congratulations goes out to Rod Botelho for winning first place in the hydraulics competition.

The day ended with a relaxing dinner at Rafters Bar and Grill, in Cloverdale. Thanks to everyone who made it out to the show, especially those people from Powell River, Vernon, and Washington State. It was great visiting with all of you.

2ND ANNUAL COUNTRY SHOW 'N SHINE PRE-DINNER
July 20, 2002

[-]

Most of us arrived around 6:40 p.m. as reservations were for 7:00 at Cruisers Pit Stop Diner in Langley, BC. Some had been there for awhile, like the guys from Powell River, who came down for the weekend for a visit. Chris made an entrance, showing off his new Mac Intake — YEAHHHHHHH as he would say!

We, 17 cars, about 35 people, went inside for dinner. Ernie passed around the newly organized club photo album. Our server had been there since the breakfast rush and did a great job with our large group. After dinner we went outside and played with RJ’s remote control car that is the identical twin of his 91 LX — racing stripes included. Just before people started to depart, the parts guru, Miles, arrived. As soon as he lifted his hood, people swarmed from all over the parking lot to take a look!

The departure began, some left for home or for other engagements, and some of us cruised to our favourite Tim Hortons in Port Kells. Thanks to everyone who came out, hope to see you all at the show tomorrow!

CRUISE 'N KART
May 19, 2002

[-]

What a day!!!! Thanks to everyone who made it out, especially those who came from out of town (the Island boys and the Vernon crew) the day was a huge success. For those of you who didn't go, here is what went down.

Boston Pizza, Ironwood plaza approx 1:30 p.m.

Ernie and I have been here for a bit as we had some final preparations to take care of, and the Thunderbirds and Cougars started to roll in. With the weather not cooperating too much ( a few drops of rain starting to fall) we took a whole bunch of pictures, did a whole bunch of videoing and talked a whole lot of B.S. We eventually headed inside to take shelter and enjoy some food courtesy of Boston Pizza. After eating, we went back outside for some more pictures and to depart on the cruise.

SilverCity parking lot, approx 4:00 p.m.

Almost all the cars (several people had previous engagements to attend) lined up in the parking lot for some more pictures, and we watched Jamie do some spectacular donuts, Rodney following Jamie’s lead and Chris showing off his new exhaust (LOUD!!!) after a couple of kind words from security we continued on with our cruise. The route took the group through the scenic but smelly farm country of Richmond, where we eventually ended up on River Road (even though a few of us missed the turn off and had to catch up).

River Road, approx 4:30 p.m.

After the "lost boys" found the rest of the pack, we took a bunch of pictures, got mouthed off by a guy in a minivan, watched some people go pee , and took some more pictures and video, we finally headed for our destination: TBC Indoor Go-Karts.

TBC Family Go-Karts, approx 5:00 p.m.

Fourteen of us were brave enough to put on the proper racing attire (that was made for 13-year-old girls ... OUCH!), we hit the track. The first race, all 14 us at once, made for some interesting competition. Nobody died *phew* and we got some great footage. The second race, several of us decided to hang up the helmets and get some fresh air. Others decided to continue the battle for a third heat, we'll let Tim and Ray tell you about that one

TBC Family Go-Kart Parking lot, approx ???

SMOKE!!!! LOTS OF TIRE SMOKE!! WOOHOO!
March 17, 2002

[-]

We had a turnout of 18 members to the ABC Restaurant in Langley B.C., where we discussed some important issues regarding the SCCoNW’s future. I made questionnaires for everyone in attendance to fill out. After eating and a discussion period, we left the restaurant and went on a cruise through busy White Rock, BC. Despite some miscommunication, we ended up gathering in a parking lot along to take some pictures and drool over each other’s cars.

RAY'S BBQ
October, 2001

[-]

I would like to thank Ray Wilch for the wonderful hospitality for this meet. Our fall meet was supposed to be a BBQ at Ray’s and then one of the final showings at the local Drive-In theatre. Well, thanks to that lovely thing called rain, we decided that Colossus would be a more appropriate location for a movie. We all left Ray’s and cruised to the theatre and arrived in your typical “SCCoNW style”! After a little ordeal with a security guard on a bike, we went inside where we saw Corky Romano. Most people thought the best part of the movie was seeing a SC. Again, thanks Ray for having us over!

SEATTLE MEET
August 19, 2001

[-]

The year closed out much as it began, with another successful gathering in Seattle, Washington at Hooters Restaurant. It was at this event that I was crowned with another honor. I was dubbed the official “Hooters Wiener Man of the Hour.” Believe me guys, this is one title you can do without! But, at least I can honestly say I was “banged” by six hooters girls (using metal spoons on a bucket on my head, mind you; my ears are still ringing!) After Hooters, we cruised to a park where we hung out, fixed Dan’s car and had a few laughs. I would like to thank Brad Zillmer and Dan Worley for organizing this event, even though there was some miscommunication, it was still a success!

SHOW 'N SHINE
July 22, 2001

[-]

What a day! I want to thank first of all Len and Lisa for organizing this event for the club, you two did a spectacular job and all the work you did is much appreciated! Thanks to everyone who made the effort to show up, especially those people who made the long trips from Washington and Vernon. Also a special thanks to Linda (my mom) for staying up till a ridiculous hour the morning of the meet to make a banner so everyone knew who we were! And I also want to commend everyone on their behaviour during the event — being responsible (like keeping the burnouts till outside the park) was much appreciated.

Congratulations to Tony, Nick and Alex for sweeping the trophies for the 80s and up performance class — especially since they were up against such cars as Cobra Mustangs, WS6 Firebirds and SS Camaros! I think we all owe a thank you to the owners of the Thunderbird Show park for letting us use their facility for the event. On our behalf I will be sending a very big thank you to these people to show our gratitude. This being the first annual country show and shine, we only have next year to look forward to! Much bigger and better next year!!

Once again, THANK YOU!

FORT CASEY MEET
March 24, 2001

[-]

22 cars and the whole meet went on without a hitch! The weather held up all day. Deception Pass was great, watching 20+ similar cars just take over an area like that was indescribable.

I would personally like to thank Dan Worley for going WAY out of his way to make this meet so great. I would like to apologize to the park itself for making a skid pad out of their parking lot (lol). After the several hour gathering at the "picnic parking lot" and interview by the fort’s finest, we headed down closer to the Fort itself for pictures. After the photo opportunity concluded. We quickly found a nice "secluded" spot for some tire wasting smoke shows! After a scare from a sheriff car obviously in a hurry we continued our tire burning. Even some of the passing by locals participated. The majority of the attending members decided to head off in their own direction after this, while a handful of us made our way to Karts Go-Cart track in Mount Vernon. Shawn "Musky" Muskovic is obviously the true racer of our club what with his freakish 1/4 mi. time for his "stock" sc, and his ability to kick all of our asses at the go cart track. The road coarse racing was ended by a legendary race between Brad Fedoruk, Jason Dahl, and a little girl. I'll let them tell you the winner.

FANTASY GARDENS
November 26, 2000

[-]

Well, it was about the worst possible day to plan for a Thunderbird meet. The rain and wind was typical of a November day in Vancouver, it was cold, and it was WET!!! But even the weather was not enough to keep 14 Thunderbird Supercoupes, 1 Thunderbird LX and 1 Cougar from attending the chapter meet at Fantasy Gardens.

I was amazed to see that so many people would brave the conditions for an opportunity to meet other chapter members and show off their cars. We all had a chance to chat for awhile and seek some shelter, and when we were sufficiently drenched we decided it was time to depart for a cruise through the South Richmond/Steveston area. Quite a sight it was to see that many Thunderbirds in convoy, and the looks that we received from passing cars reflected that. Once we arrived at Garry Point Park we lined up the cars and took many pictures. And again, we got back into our cars to dry out, and continue with the cruise. Next we drove through the historic fishing village of Steveston, along the winding, twisty River road then stopped for yet more pictures while Houman Lessani and Shawn Muskovic let some built-up smoke out of their tires.

We all ended up at an abandoned industrial lot which (conveniently) was hidden from view from any main roads, and was the perfect spot for some spectacular donuts and burnouts. After those who wanted to took their turn tearing up the asphalt we decided that a good meal was in order, so it was off to Boston Pizza. There we had the chance to dry out, watch some of the Grey Cup football game, have some lunch and reflect on the day’s activities. By now, it was getting late and dark, so we headed for home.

All in all the day was a huge success, it was the best attended meet that the SCCoNW has ever had. Those in attendance were: Jerome Gipson, James Gaetz, Houman Lessani, Michele Banducci, Dan DaSilva, Len Dunnigan, Miles Nerona, Kevin Relkoff, Ryan Hickmore, Linda Fedoruk, Brad Fedoruk, Dan Narayan, Jim Cooke, Shawn Muskovic, Devon and Heather Tomlin (who came all the way from Oregon for this meet, thanks guys!!!!) Photographers Rob Harrison and Ray Blome (a HUGE thanks to these two!) and a gentleman named Pardeep, I believe it was, although i was unable to get a chance to meet him and his friend that came out. Once again, a big thank you to those who came and participated!!! Brad Fedoruk - SCCoNW.

RAFTER'S LUNCHEON
October 8, 2000

First thing that I would like to say is THANK YOU to all who came out to the Fall meet in Cloverdale, B.C. on October the 8th. I hope everyone had as good a time as I did!

Although the weather wasn't the greatest to start the day, by the time the meet got going, the rain had stopped and allowed us all the time we wanted to check out each other’s cars without getting wet! Lunch at Rafter’s Bar and Grill was great, and we all had a chance to talk to each other, and compare modifications and discuss future plans.

After we were all finished inside we departed from the restaurant (with a great deal of noise and tire smoke) we headed for the Millenium Amphiteater park on the Cloverdale Fairgrounds to take some pictures. Not long after, we all lined our cars up on the grass of the park, we took our turns taking pictures, and then were promptly asked to remove ourselves from the property (who knew that we weren't supposed to park on the grass???)

So … those who didn't have prior Thanksgiving arrangements headed back to Rafters for some more fun in the parking lot. After some spectacular displays of the supercoupes' abilities, and leaving our mark on the blacktop, everyone headed for home.

All in all, we had 12 Thunderbird Supercoupes, two Thunderbird LXs, and one Cougar 4.6 XR-7 and almost 25 people come out and show their support for the Northwest chapter!!! This far exceeded my expectations when I planned the meet, and was very happy to see the attendance. This can only mean one thing, the next one will be bigger and better!

Now I need from you some input as to when and where would be best … I had some suggestions that closer to Vancouver would be ideal as most SC owners in this region (in BC that is) live near the city. And I had calls to hold a meet as soon as next month, perhaps Sunday November the 19th. If I can get some feedback from everyone on the possibility of this it would be greatly appreciated!

When I get some suggestions I will post the plans for the next SCCoNW meet within the next two weeks!

In total seven Supercoupes showed up. We had lunch at Cruisers Diner and we discussed our Supercoupes and Fords in general while we got a chance to know each other. After, we had a quick photo op outside the restaurant. One guy who was driving buy in a SC even stopped and checked out what was going on. We told him about the SCCoA and our Northwest chapter. He had no idea that there was such a strong following for these cars! Later on we all hopped in our cars and made a caravan up to a car show that was going on at the time in Langley. We then had another photo opportunity and the mini-meet was over.

This was the first real mini meet to get our chapter established. Thanks to Brad Fedoruk for organizing this great meet. The Northwest chapter is getting a stronger following each time. Many more to come!

On October 10th, 1998 at King Charly’s Burgers in Washington State, The SCCoNW held its first ever meet. In attendance was a whopping three whole cars! I will admit the turnout was unimpressive at best, but that meet laid the foundation for the club as it is today.
